Placing an Image in a Different Background in Fireworks

Step 1: Getting Started

Go ahead and select an object or image. The background does not matter at this point. I choose to use the dog with the sunglasses shown below:

Select the first Lasso tool .
Draw a line around the dog to select it.
Open the picture of the island or background you want in a new document window.

Click back on the picture of the dog. It should still have the selected lines around it.
Click Copy, then click back on the island picture and choose paste.
Resize the image and place it where you want it to be in the background image. My finished product is shown below:
