Paste Inside in Fireworks

Here's another cool feature in fireworks. Have you ever wanted a picture to be in a particular shape - say a circle or a rectangle with curved edges. Well! With Fireworks that's extremely easy to do. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

Make the shape that you want using the ordinary shape tools found in your toolbar (e.g. circle, rectangle etc.) I choose the circle tool, then I pulled it to make the egg shape.
Open the photo you want to use in another document window. If you want to use the puppy picture I used, place a copy of it in your folder.

To place a frame around the photo, select the oval tool or shape you want to created.
Open the Effects Panel (Window>Effect).
Click the down arrow and select Bevel and Emboss>Outer Bevel.
Double click the words Outer Bevel to open the bevel editing box.
Choose the color you want for your frame and assign it a thickness value. Play around with the Bevel Edge shapes drop-down menu. Choose one that you like.
Place the photograph or image where you want it (on top of the shape). I had my photo open in another document window, then I just drug it on top of the frame.
Select the image and cut it (Cntrl +X).
Click back on the frame to select it.
Click Edit>Paste Inside (Cntrl+Shift+V)

The picture is now placed within the shape. If you want to move the picture within the shape, click on the white arrow in the toolbar and select the picture. Now you can move the image within the shape to get the perfect position. The image and the shape is now an object. If you select the object with the usual select tool, you can add cool effects like an inner bevel or a drop shadow. Play around with it and you can get some really professional looking graphics.
