Open Flash and click on the size button on the Properties panel to open the Document Properties dialog box. Give the document a title and set the width to 300 px and height to 100 px with a background color of your choice.
Click on the text tool on the Tools panel and set the font size and type on the Properties Panel then click on the stage and type some text.
Select the text on the stage with the selection tool .
Center the text on the stage. We are doing this so at the end of the animation the letters will be centered. Click the horizontal and vertical alignment on the Align panel. Make sure the to stage button is selected:
Select Modify > Break Apart (or Ctrl + B) to break the text into individual letters:
You should have four blues boxes around your letters:
Right click on the text and select distribute to layers:
Your timeline should look like the graphic below:
Click on Layer 1 and delete it by clicking on the delete button at the bottom of the timeline:
Click all the frames in frame 15 by clicking in frame 15 of the h layer and dragging up while holding down the left mouse. Click F6 to insert keyframes on all the layers at one time.
Go back and select all the layers in frame 1. While holding the shift key click the left arrow to move the text off the stage on the left.
Select all the frames between frame 1 and frame 15 by holding down the mouse and dragging up to select all the frames.
Select motion from the Tweening options on the Properties panel:
On the properties panel select CW for rotate and place 5 in the times text box (replacing the 1 shown below):
The last thing we will do is stagger the letters so they don't fall at the same time. I also want my h to roll out first. Select all the frames in the s layer by holding down the left mouse and dragging over the frames. While holding down the left mouse button drag the frames to the right 5 frames. Continue moving the frames until your timeline resembles the one below:
The last thing we need to do is place frames in the very last frame of all layers so the text does not disappear from the stage. In the last frame of the h layer, select all the frames above the keyframe and click F5 to copy the all the letters to the last frame.
