Dreamweaver: You can create a link to a sound file in a web page or place a sound that will play in the background. Unless you want people to leave your page ASAP, don't do the latter. It's amazingly irritating. . Otherwise, simply type sound text, click the folder icon next to the Link box in the Properties window and select the sound file you want. Dreamweaver will copy it to the web site and create a link that will play the sound when clicked.

Powerpoint: Insert->Movies and Sounds->Sound from file. Select the sound file you've created and click OK. A small speaker icon will appear to indicate that a sound is attached to the slide. Powerpoint will ask if you want the sound to play automatically. If you select "Yes", the sound will start as soon as the slide appears. Otherwise, you'll have to click on the speaker icon.

iMovie: File->Import and select the file you want. By default, the sound file will appear in one of the audio tracks.

Photo Story 3: At the Add Background Music Dialog Box, select Select music enables the user to select mp3 files created or downloaded from a source outside of Photo Story. You would have to export the file as a MP3 file.
