Applying Actions to Action Buttons
Now we are going to assign actions to the buttons you have created on your question slide. When you click on the True action button, a sound will play and you will place a hyperlink to the next slide that confirms the correct answer. Click on the sound files below and unzip them to your student folder. You can also find your own free sound loops to use for this activity.
Add Actions to Question Slides:
First we will add actions to the nine question slides, then the nine additional correct response slides. Bring up the first question slide. Make sure you have your sound files saved to your student folder. Click on the True/False button that is the correct response to the question to select it. Remember you can have either True or False as the correct answer. Make sure you are selecting the action button not the text on top. Right click on the button and select Hyperlink to open the Action Setting dialog box..
At the Action Settings dialog box, the Action on click should be set to Hyperlink to: Next Slide. Check Play Sound and navigate to Other sound. This will open a browser window in which you will navigate to your student folder and select one of the sound files you copied there. There are also sounds that come packaged with PowerPoint and are displayed in the drop down menu. You may wish to use one of these files.
Click OK to apply the next slide hyperlink and the play sound action.
View Slide Show:
To view your slide show with the View tab selected click Slide Show.
Click on your action button to see if the sound file plays and if it goes to the next slide which should be your correct response slide. Continue adding actions to your other question slides.
Create Nine Additional Incorrect Response Slides:
First you need to create a slide that contains your incorrect response. You want them to appear behind the correct response slide that corresponds with that particular question. An example slide is shown below:
On this slide you want to add an action to the Home button that will return to the game grid.
Add Action Settings to the Incorrect Response Button:
Next add action settings to the Incorrect Response button on your question slide. Return to the first question slide. Click on the Incorrect Response button on your slide, right click to bring up the hyperlink dialog box and this time you want the incorrect sound to play and you want to hyperlink to the incorrect response slide you created. You now have a lot of slides and you can't select next slide but need to select the incorrect response slide. To do this select Slide from the Hyperlink to dropdown list to bring up the list of slides in your presentation.
At the Hyperlink to Slide dialog box shown below, find your grid slide and click on it. Click OK to return to the Action Settings dialog box.
Now you will add an incorrect sound file to your slide the same way you entered it on the True button.
Now you are going to add an action setting on your correct response slide that will return the game to the celebrity grid. Go to one of your correct answer slides and right click on the home button to open the Action Settings dialog box.
Right click on the button and add actions the same as you did to the False button above, returning to the celebrity game show slide.

at the bottom left of your document window or select Slide Show > View Slide show:

Click on the False button on your slide, right click to bring up the action button dialog box and this time you want the incorrect sound to play and you want to return to the game grid slide that showcases your nine celebrities. To return to the celebrities slide at the Action on click select Hyperlink to: and select Slide to bring up the list of slides in your presentation.
At the Hyperlink to Slide dialog box shown below, find your grid slide and click on it. Click OK to return to the Action Settings dialog box.
Now you will add an incorrect sound file to your slide the same way you entered it on the True button.
