Creating a Password Field

In some instances you want to prevent the screen from displaying what the user enters into an input box. An example of this would be if you are requesting credit card information. If so, you would like to prevent the card number from being displayed on the computer monitor, as a security measure. You can accomplish this with a Password field. A Password field is identical to an input box except that the characters typed by the user are displayed as bullets or asterisks. The syntax for creating a Password field is:

<INPUT TYPE=PASSWORD>

As with input boxes, you can specify a size, maximum length and name for your password. You do not need to specify any Password fields for the registration form.
