Modifying Images in Dreamweaver Using Fireworks

When using Dreamweaver, editing image is a snap. All editing can be done in Dreamweaver using Fireworks. Never, never resize your images in Dreamweaver. The resolution of picture becomes distorted.

First you will need to insert a picture into dreamweaver. The image I used below will allow us to demonstrates several editing options available in Fireworks.

Copy the picture below and insert it in Dreamweaver.

Click on the picture. Notice that the property inspector now has two more options available, an edit and reset size button. Click the edit button. This will now open Fireworks with the picture loaded in the program.
Notice the blue rope around the picture. This lets you know that you are in vector mode. You need to be in bitmap mode to edit the graphic. To get the photo to bitmap mode, double click the picture. The picture should now have a blue line around the picture. This lets you know that you are in bitmap mode and are able to edit the picture.
First, we will need to turn the picture 90 degress clockwise. Before we do this, you will need to edit the canvas size. As you see at the bottom of the document window the canvas size of the document is 230 by 320. I want to extend the width of the canvas so I don't cut the picture off when I rotate it. To change the canvas size, click Modify>Canvas size. Key in 320 in the top box and then click OK.
You will now rotate the picture. Click Modify>Transform>Rotate 90 degrees.
The picture now appears on the page in an upright position, however there is a lot of extra space around the picture. We want worry about that now.
Select the oval marquee tool. Drag an oval toolbar around the picture. An easy way to create an oval marquee is to hold down the Alt key, click in the center of the picture, and pull the object from the center.
