Learning Objectives Along with Areas of Interaction:

Students will:

  • through the lens of environment, students will research different countries and investigate natural resources within that country's environment to determine the product line they will represent.
  • through the lens of homo faber and approaches to learning, read and follow
    online directions which will result in a completed Website on their personal
    international business that will contain the home page and six external documents.
  • through the lens of approaches to learning, create hypertext links to the six
    external page.
  • through the lens of approaches to learning, copy and paste pictures of their products in Fireworks and modify the image size.
  • through the lens of approaches to learning, create tables that will house their
    company products.
  • through the lens of homo faber, create a background for their web page in
    Fireworks and export the background image to their student folder.
  • through the lens of approaches to learning, insert the background on all their
    web pages.
  • through the lens of homo faber, create buttons in Fireworks with rollover, text on status bar, and navigation behaviors that when clicked on will return to the home page.
  • through the lens of homo faber, create a company logo that reflects the culture of their chosen country.
  • through the lens of homo faber, create a decorative title in Flash that displays several effects.
  • through the lens of approaches to learning, create a Javascript that will calculate the number of days until Christmas that includes an alternative message when December 25th is displayed (if/else statement).
  • through the lens of environment, contribute to the aesthetics of their classroom environment by creating a poster depicting their business that includes the country's theme. Students will follow the design cycle in creating the poster.

  • evaluate the quality and effectiveness of their website as compared to their peers products with a student evaluation rubric.
