Project 14 - Web Page
Make a web page for your company. The text on the web page should include information
about your company.
Include all the following:
Your company name as the title of the web page
A background with a texture
Graphics
Hyperlinks (Make sure you create hyperlinks to a web page on the Internet that
shows products your company sells.)
At the new document dialog box, select web page.
Key in your company name, address, telephone number, and Web address.
Insert a horizontal line by completing the following steps:
Position the insertion point on the blank line under the company address and the
first paragraph of the text you will enter in the body of the document.
Click Format and then Borders and Shading.
At the Borders and Shading dialog box, click the Horizontal Line button that displays
at the bottom of the dialog box.
At the Horizontal Line dialog box, click the line you wish to use, then click
the Insert clip button..
Apply a theme by completing the following steps:
Click Format and then Theme.
Scroll through the list of themes in the Choose a Theme list box and choose a
theme that will enhance your page.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
To add scrolling text to your page, complete the following steps:
Display the Web Tools toolbar by clicking View, pointing to Toolbars, and then
clicking Web Tools.
Position the insertion point where you want the scrolling text to appear and then
click the Center button on the Formatting toolbar.
Click the Scrolling Text button on the Web Tools toolbar (the last button choice).
At the Scrolling Text dialog box, select "Scrolling Text" that display
in the Type the Scrolling Text Here box and then key in the information you want
to scroll across your page.
Choose a background color for the scrolling text by clicking the down-pointing
triangle at the right side of the Background color text box and then click the
color you want to use at the drop-down list.
Click OK to close the Scrolling Text dialog box.
To add a sound clip to the Web page, follow the steps below:
Click the Sound button on the Web Tools toolbar.
At the Background Sound dialog box, click the Browse button.
At the File Open dialog box (with the Media folder display), double click a sound
clip that would go with you web theme.
At the Background Sound dialog box, click the down-pointing triangle at the right
side of the Loop text box, and then click Infinite at the drop-down list.
Click OK to close the Background Sound dialog box.
To create a hyperlink to other web pages that contain products that are carried
by your company, complete the following steps:
Type in the text that describes the Web page.
Select the text.
Click the Insert hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar (the button that displays
a ball behind a chain link), or click insert, then choose hyperlink.
At the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, click the browse for option, choose web page,
then navigate to the page you want to link to.
Once you have located the page you want to link to, return to your Word document.
The web address should now be listed in the Type the file or Web page name text
box.
Click OK.
Click File, then Save as and name your document Proj14.
To preview your document and test your link, click File then chose Web Page Preview.
Your Web page will now be displayed on the Web. Click the hyperlink to see if
it takes you to the page you selected.
Continue creating hyperlinks to your companies products following the steps above.
Include at least six hyperlinks.
