Project 8: Flyer
Create a flyer advertising for one one of your company's products, a sale, or
upcoming event.
Include decorative fonts by selecting the entire document (Ctrl + A) and choosing
the size and face located on the Formatting Toolbar.
Center the text vertically on the page by completing the following steps:
Click File, then Page Setup.
At the Page Setup dialog box, click the Layout tab.
At the Page Setup dialog box with the Layout tab selected, click the down-pointing
triangle at the right side of the Vertical alignment text box, and then click
Center at the drop-down list.
Click OK to close the Page Setup dialog box.
Include a decorative art page border by completing the following steps:
Display the Borders and Shading dialog box.
At the Borders and Shading dialog box, click the Page Border tab.
Click the Box button in the Setting section.
Click the down-pointing triangle at the right side of the Art text box.
At the drop-down list that displays, scroll down the list and choose a border
that would accent your page.
Click OK or close the dialog box.
Include a watermark that goes along with your company theme by completing the
following steps:
Move the insertion point to the beginning of the document.
Display the Insert ClipArt dialog box (Insert-Picture-ClipArt).
At the Insert ClipArt dialog box, click in the Search for clips text box, key
in a description of what you want to appear as a background image, and then press
Enter. If you don't find what you are looking for, there are two other ways to
look for images:
Display the Insert ClipArt dialog box.
.At the Insert ClipArt dialog box, click the Clips Online button at the top of
the box.
Click OK at the Connect to Web for More ClipArt, Photos, Sounds.
Clip Accept to disabling Javascript.
At the Online Insert ClipArt dialog box, click in the Search for clips text box,
key in a description of what you want to appear as a background image, and then
press Enter.
2. The second way to choose an image at the ClipArt dialog box is to already have
a picture you wish to use in your student folder.
Display the Insert ClipArt dialog box.
At the Insert ClipArt dialog box, click the Import Clips button at the top of
the box.
Navigate to your student folder, and choose the picture you wish to use as your
watermark.
When you have found the image you wish to use, click the image and then click
the Insert clip button (the first choice given).
Close the Insert ClipArt dialog box.
Click once on the image to select it.
Decrease or increase the image by dragging the bottom right sizing handle to the
size you want to appear behind the text.
Click the Image Control on the Picture toolbar , the second button from the left,
and then click Watermark at the drop-down list that displays.(If the Picture toolbar
is not displayed, display it by positioning the mouse pointer on the image, clicking
the right mouse button, and then clicking Show Picture Toolbar.)
If you wish to have your image a little darker or lighter, click the more brightness
or less brightness button on the Picture Toolbar (the one that is a sun icon).
Click the Text Wrapping button on the Picture toolbar, the one that displays a
puppy icon, and then click Behind Text at the drop-down list.
With the watermark image still selected, drag it to the right so is is better
centered beneath the text.
Click outside the image to deselect it.
Proofread and spell check your flyer.
Save the flyer with the name Proj8.
