Formatting A Table
Return to your text document that contains the table template and you will now change the appearance of the table itself. Locate the beginning of your table tag (<TABLE>) and change it to read:
<TABLE ALIGN=CENTER WIDTH=640 BORDER=10 CELLSPACING=5 CELLPADDING=2>
Save your text document and view it again in your browser, It's already looking better! By typing in the above code, you let the computer know that you wanted the table centered on the page with a width of 640 pixels and a border of 10 pixels. The cellspacing property controls the amount of space inserted between table cells, or in plain terms, the interior border thickness. Cellpadding refers to the space within the table cells. To see the difference in the two, change the number of pixels, save your document, then view it in your browser. When you are through experimenting, change the values back to the above specifications.
