Creating a Watermark/Washout Picture

Also on the Picture toolbar is the select Image Control options: Automatic, Grayscale, Black & White, and Washout. This allows you more control on how your image will appear in the presentation. For example, you might want to create a watermark for your slide master (a lightly colored picture that appears in the background). This can be done using several buttons on the picture toolbar.

Insert the picture you wish to make a watermark.
Click the color options button as shown below. This will open a drop down list for these options:
- Automatic
- Grayscale
- Black & White
- Washout
Select Washout. You should now have a very light colored picture.
The more contrast or less contrast buttons add contrast to the watermark. Click on these two buttons to see what they do to the watermark:
The brighten and dim buttons can also enhance your pictures. Click these two buttons to see their effect.
To return the picture to its original color, simply click the reset picture button shown below:
