Inserting Page Breaks and Text From File

Open the20 Tips on How to Survive and Keep Your Job document in Word 2010. Place your cursor at the bottom of the page.

Insert a New Page Break Into the Document

With your cursor at the line under Step four with the Page Layout Ribbon displayed select Break > Next Page:

Your cursor should now appear on the second page of the document.

Insert a Text from File

Click on the Insert tab at the top of Microsoft Word
From the Insert tab locate the Text panel
On the Text panel, click the Object item, and then Text from File from the menu:

When you click on Text from File, you'll see the Insert File dialogue box appear. Navigate to your where you saved your text file to, your My Business student folder. Click on the file called Behave Professionally to select it.

Select Document

Click Insert to Insert the Behave Professionally on the second page of the document.

Continue adding page breaks and inserting text file to the document following the order shown below: Remember once you have inserted a text file you set a page break to go to the next page. When you are done your document should have 21 pages, the 20 pages that include the individual tips text files and the first page that you typed earlier that just list the 20 tips that you formatted with heading 1 and heading 2 styles. The page numbers are shown at the bottom left side of your document. Page Number

Navigate to Page 1

Once you have inserted all 20 pages, which you document should now include 21 pages, return to page 1 of the document. A fast way to get there is the go to feature in word. With your home tab selected click the Find then select Go to from the drop down menu.

With the Go To tab selected select Page from the Go to what section then type in 1 in the Enter page number text box.
