Creating a Simple Web Page in Microsoft Word

For this activity you will need to create a new folder in your business folder called Web Page. Navigate to your folder called My Business. Click File then select New then Folder.

Type in Web Page for the folder name. This is where you will save all the web pages and pictures for your business web page.

Copy and Paste Logo in Web Page Folder

Navigate to your My Business folder and locate your logo. Click on it and copy (Edit > Copy) then open the Web Page folder and paste (Edit > Paste) your logo there. Remember all of your web page files need to be housed in this folder.

Create a New Word Document and Save it as a Web Page

Start a new Word 2010 word document.

Save it as a Web Page with the name index. Index is the name you assign home pages for the web. Select File > Save as

Navigate to your Web Page folder that will house all the pages and graphics that will be used in this lesson. Make sure that you save everything to that one folder or the page will not be displayed correctly when opened in a browser window. In the Save as type select Web Page.
