Aligning Text Around An Image

Return to plainstupid in your text editor, Notepad. You will make the following changes:

<P>

<IMG SRC="yourimage.gif">

</P>

The next line should be the paragraph with links to your anchors minus the image file you just cut from it. Save your changes and view it in your browser. Your image file should now be above your short category names, but flushed to the left side of your page. Next you will move the descriptive paragraph up next to your image. To do this, follow the steps below:

ALIGN=LEFT

Another problem needs to be fixed. There's not enough space separating the image the the surrounding text, which makes the page appear crowded. You can increase the horizontal and vertical space around the image with the HSPACE and VSPACE properties as follows:

<IMG SRC="image.gif"VSPACE=value HSPACE=value>

The HSPACE property increases the space to the left and right of the image, and the VSPACE property increases the space above and below the image. The value assigned is measured in pixels. Return to your image you just flushed to the left and edit the <IMG> tag as follows:

<P>

<IMG SRC="image.gif" ALIGN=LEFT VSPACE=5 HSPACE=15>

Save your changes and view it in a browser. Change the value to get the best result for your image.
